♥I Ain't Gonna Live Forever♥[/size]
Personality:In Final Fantasy VIII, Squall starts out portraying himself with a brooding and cold personality. Every time someone tries to get close to him, Squall would just push them away. Later, it would be learned in a conversation with Rinoa that Squall does this delibarately, as he doesn't remember his parents and had his sister taken from him at a young age. Losing his sister, gave him a fear of losing the comforting feelings loved ones brought when they grow close to people. Squall also believes friendship will get get him nowwhere, and relying on others is a weakness and that he is destined to be alone.
Despite his feelings, Squall does have a clear mind and a strong sense of duty, giving him strong leadership qualities. Though he often hates having to assume leadership duties, he is basically the nominated leader of his group due to his ability to ensure things get done. As he grows, Squall begins to rethink his life, and even goes so far as to fall in love with Rinoa. Falling in love with Rinoa, also opened up a new window for Squall, though he would never quite change fully. Squall would continue to remain quiet and slightly withdrawn, yet would warm up to the aid of his friends, and find himself caring about others and growing more social. It is this persona of him that we see in Kingdom Hearts, where he would remain withdrawn yet continue his duties, becoming the head of the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee, and even form a friendly rivalry with Cloud.
History:(At least three paragraphs)
Final Fantasy(VIII and Dissidia)
Squall was born in the town of Windhill to parents Laguna and Raine Loire. His mother died after his birth, living long enough to give him his name. Laguna had left earlier and was in fact, in Esthar, searching for his adopted daughter Ellone from the grasp of the Sorceress Adel. After Raine's passing, both Ellone(who had been sent back to Windhill by Laguna) and a young Squall were sent to live in Edea's Orphanage, run by Edea Kramer. Now, Ellone and Squall grew close, his older sister becoming his best friend despite kids of his own age being around in the orphanage. Squall would affectionately refer to Ellone as 'Big Sis,' as it wasn't known if he knew of their previous ties or not prior to arrival at the orphanage.
It was at Edea's Orphanage, where Squall would learn he had in fact grown up with Zell, Irvine, Quistis, Selphie, and Seifer. But he wouldn't remember those facts due to memory loss, which was a common side effect of Guardian Force use, but those events will be discussed at a later time. Now, back to present, not long after Ellone had been taken in by White Seeds, Squall himself, who had never been adopted due to his difficult nature, at the age of six enrolled in Balamb Garden to train to become a SeeD. Due to the pain of losing Ellone, Squall would become the quiet and reserved lone wolf we all know him as today. As he aged into his teen years, Squall would be allowed to train with a weapon. His weapon of choice, was the notoriously difficult to master Gunblade. The weapon's difficulty didn't stop Squall from mastering it, as he trained with it every chance he got. Only one other student was training with the Gunblade apart from Squall, and that was Seifer, who would prove to be his rival.
The rivalry between Seifer and Squall was so great, that during a training segment, Seifer would give Squall his signature scar. Not long after taking his graduation exam to become a SeeD, Squall would meet Rinoa, who would force him to dance at the inauguration ball. Surprisingly enough to the newest member of SeeD, Rinoa would also in fact turn out to be his first employer, as she had come to Balamb to request SeeD's aid. Not long after the ball, Squall, along with Selphie and Zell would be summoned to Headmaster Cid's office where they would be given their first orders. The mission: Help a group known as the Forest Owls, who were a group of freedom fighters free Timber from Galbadian control.
Once Squall and Co reached Timber, they would learn they are in Rinoa's employment until Timber is freed, much to Squall's dismay as he had issues with the Forest Owl's professionalism. The first mission with the the group was simple, or so it seemed. The were to kidnap the Galbadian President. Their efforts would lead to failure however, as they kidnapped a body double. After those events, despite the issues Rinoa had with SeeD and Squall's with Rinoa, they would continue on their mission. This time, they would intercept the first world wide TV broadcast done in 17 years. This would spark an argument between Squall and Rinoa, due to Rinoa voicing her opinions about SeeD, which led to Squall putting down her team, forcing Rinoa to leave.
After the broadcast and a run in with Quistis after she and Seifer arrive, Seifer would take the President hostage, much to Quistis' dismay. Quistis then orders Squall and Co to chase after Seifer where they would learn the President's new ally was the Sorceress, who then cast a spell on Seifer that forced Seifer to go with her. After that moment, everyone would be convinced Seifer had been executed. During these events, the Forest Owl's base would be destroyed, forcing everyone to lay low for awhile. Squall and Rinoa would argue yet again here, this time about how Squall treats everyone around him as they made their way to Galbadia Garden. It would be here that the team would receive orders to assassinate the Sorceress in Deiling City and it is here they would meet Irvine Kinneas.
Having been dubbed the leader of the Squad to assassinate the Sorceress, the team then heads to Deiling City to meet their contact, a man by the name of General Caraway. A very surprising bit of news would appear as the team walked in on an arguing Rinoa and General Caraway. Rinoa would happen to be Caraway's daughter. Later that night, at the Ceremony. Sorceress Edea would kill the President and claim Galbadia as her own. Much to the surprise of everyone else, Seifer was seen by her side as her Knight. The team would take their positions regardless, however Irvine would end up choking at the last minute, forcing Squall to reason with him, which ruined the teams plans entirely as Edea wound up deflecting Irvine's bullet. After that incident, Squall would end up fighting Edea and Seifer both, however a powerful Ice Strike cast by Edea would wind up impaling Squall through the shoulder rendering him unconscious and the rest of the team getting arrested.
Several hours later in the D District prison, Squall would awaken to find himself being tortured and interrogated by Seifer, but would learn a very critical bit of information. It would seem Edea planned to launch a missile strike against both Balamb and Trabia Garden. With the aid of his teammates, Squall would escape and immediately informs them of Edea's plans. Deciding it would be best to split into two teams, led by Squall and Selphie, Squall's team would warn the Garden's about the strikes, while Selphie's team worked on sabotaging the strikes.
Upon arrival back at Balamb, Squall would find himself staring at a revolt against Headmaster Cid led by the Garden's founder, Grandmaster Norg. Aiding those he could as he searched for the Headmaster, Squall would learn a very valuable bit of information about the Garden. It was in fact a bunker of Centra make. Activating the old technology, Squall's team was able to move the Garden away from the planned missile strike, only to crash into Fisherman's Horizon, where at first they were unwelcome, but after liberating the town from soldiers, they received the aid they needed.
After the events at Fisherman's Horizon Squall would learn Edea was Headmaster Cid's wife, Squall would unwillingly be appointed Balamb Garden's commander and leader. It would be here that Rinoa and Squall hold a conversation that would eventually lead to Squall trusting the team as they trust him. Upon the Garden being restored, Squall would head to the city of Balamb, where he would liberate it from Galbadian soldiers, and defeat Fuujin and Raijin.
After Galbadia, the team would head to Trabia Garden, where Irvine, who hadn't used a Guardian Force yet, and remembered everything filled them in about their past and how they all grew up in Edea's orphanage. Despite their upbringing, the team came to an agreement that Edea needed to be stopped, and would head to the old orphanage to search for clues, only to be intercepted by Galbadia Garden, leading to the Battle of the Gardens. After a heartfelt speech to Balamb's SeeD's and cadets, Squall himself would personally led them into battle against the rival Garden, where Seifer and Edea would get put in their place once again, and Edea would be freed from Ultimecia, and Rinoa being put in a comatose state.
Filled with concern over Rinoa's state, Squall would search for his sister Ellone, believing she could help Rinoa. Learning from the White SeeD that she was in Esthar, Squall would make his way there and to the space station where Ultimecia would possess Rinoa, and use her to free Adel from her space tomb. Ultimecia's plans carried out, Rinoa would have died in space, were it not for Squall risking his own life to save her.
After those events the couple would come across an abandoned airship by the name of Ragnarok and use it to return to the planet. However, they would receive orders to hand over Rinoa from the land base, as she had become a Sorceress. At first Squall lets Esthar take her into custody, but after a convincing conversation, the Prideful Lion would break her out and free her. They would first head back to the orphanage where they would agree to meet should they become separated, then, by Laguna's request, return to Esthar where he would tell of his plan to capture Ultimecia.
The team then found themselves invading Lunatic Pandora using Ragnarok to get there, where they would find trouble yet again. Seifer was waiting, along with Adel. After defeating both, Ultimecia's mind would try to possess Rinoa again, only to be trapped in all time by Ellone. It would be there Ultimecia would use time compression, bringing the party to the future where the final battle would be held. After the battle, and informing Edea in the past that she should form SeeD, Rinoa wound up saving Squall, where at the celebration, Squall would smile at her for the first time, and kiss her. In Dissidia Final Fantasy, Squall would fight for Cosmos, trying to restore the light Chaos was trying to destroy.
Kingdom Hearts:
Squall grew up in the world known as Radiant Garden. Being unable to save the world from falling into darkness, Squall would change his name to Leon in attempt to distance himself from his past, swearing he will never use his real name until order has been restored, and the Heartless are no longer a threat. Awakening in the world of Traverse Town, Squall would be the leader of the defense force against the Heartless, managing to keep a fair bit of the world protected against the Heartless and Maleficent's forces. Apart from fighting Heartless, using his own personal Gummi Ship, Squall would fly from world to world, rescuing refugees and aiding others in peril, sending them all to Traverse Town. Mickey of course, took notice of this, forging a friendship with Squall.
Ironically enough, Mickey's friendship with Squall is what caused him to order Donald and Goofy to find him, knowing that Squall would help them find the new Keyblade wielder. Ironically enough, as they searched for him, Squall had found Sora..and after a good fight which ended with the newest Key wielder falling unconscious, Squall would take him to a hotel and inform him of the Keyblade's power, as well as the Heartless and the growing darkness. Upon several returns to the world, Squall would give Sora more information, gradually giving him the summonstone that would unlock Simba.
After the events at Hollow Bastion, Squall would give Kairi shelter in Traverse Town and along with Yuffie, Aerith, and Cid, travel to Hollow Bastion himself. It would be here that Squall wished to bid Sora farewell, just in case they didn't see each other again. After the events of Chain of Memories (I'm not gonna cover those, as it wasn't the real Leon), Squall's personality would change.
Squall grew more cheerful during the year Ansem Seeker of Darkness had been defeated, Squall himself had overseen the great progress in restoring Radiant Garden to it's former glory, as well as be the leader of the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee. Squall would fight alongside Sora several times during Sora's trips to Radiant Garden, both as his aid in following Nobodies, and during the 1000 Heartless invasion. But Leon's help didn't stop there. During the Space Paranoids Heartless invasion, Squall himself would implant the eradicator program that Sora would use to defeat Sark and the MCP.

RP Sample:The nightmare had returned again. This had happened for the past three nights now. No matter how hard he wanted to push this memory out of his head, it kept replaying over and over again, bringing back the shame and helplessness he had felt all those years ago when Radiant Garden became Hollow Bastion. Squall's head would toss and turn atop his pillow as that tragic day kep t replaying in his head. It wasn't long before Squall sat upright, eyes gazing down upon his blanket.
With a heavy sigh, Squall would shove the blanket down to the foot of his bed and make his way towards the closet, retrieving his jacket and his Gunblade. Looking down towards the floor of the closet, Squall would bend down and kick open an ammo case, loading a clip into the pistol grip of the weapon before cocking back the hammer. With a soft click, the chamber would slide forth, chambering a bullet into the Gunblade. It never hurt to be prepared, especially in these times of darkness. As he headed towards the door, Squall would pause and turn to look at the sleeping forms of Aerith, Cid, and Yuffie, his teammates, and would show a rare smile before leaving out the door.
I have to protect them. Cid, Aerith, Yuffie, the citizens of Traverse Town. Everyone. I will not, no I cannot let this world fall to darkness again... Squall found himself thinking as he stepped out into the chill night air. He cared for everyone, whether he wanted to admit it or not. Thing was, his pride refused to allow him to show as much. With a slight tilt of his head, Squall's gaze averted to the starlit sky. It was a beautiful sight to behold...yet she wasn't here to share this moment with him. It wasn't fair. Where was she? As his gaze lingered upon the sky, a star would flicker out, signifying a world had fallen to darkness. Narrowing his eyes yet again, Squall would turn and head back into the house silently so as not to awaken his friends, vowing to do whatever it took to protect this town.
