Black Mage Village The Black Mage Village is populated by Black Mages who suddenly became self-aware and desired a life of peace. They are all referred to by their serial number, such as Black Mage No. 288. The Black Mages lead a totally secluded life in their village, which was concealed by the Dead Forest. When Zidane and his party, including the Black Mage Vivi, find the village, the Black Mages are initially cold towards them, refusing to tell them the way to Kuja's Desert Palace. After Vivi and the party become friendlier with the Mages, Mr. 288 tells Vivi that the palace is on the eastern side of the Outer Continent. After the party returns from Terra, the displaced Genomes make their home in the Black Mage Village. The Black Mages try to teach them the ways of Gaia despite their own naivety. The Mages also raise a chocobo, which they name, "Bobby Corwen." Moderator: SERAH FARRON! |

Conde Petie A single flat building shaped like a bridge, Conde Petie was built astride two Iifa roots. This location was chosen, according to Darcy Skywatcher, for its proximity to both the mountains and the forests and for its ample sunlight, which are considered sacred to the Dwarves. Daguerreo It is an indoor library of sorts near the Forgotten Continent. It can only be reached by airship (either Hilda Garde III or the Invincible). Some of the best weapons and armor in the game can be bought or synthesized here. However, before buying this equipment the player must fix the lift to the upper levels of the library. The lower levels of Daguerreo are flooded. Zidane and his friends meet the Master Treasure Hunter, the Four-Armed Man here. He is later revealed to be Gilgamesh. Also, it is possible for the player to rename the characters if they show a man here the rare Namingway Card. Zidane will also encounter a Cleyran survivor, Forest Oracle Kildea. Fossil Roo Fossil Roo is a network of roots from the huge Iifa Tree, which flow through underground tunnels. The passengers ride holding onto the back of a giant mole-cricket-like insect, called the Gargant. It is called by feeding it flowers that look like large dandilions. The Gargant's routes may be altered by various switches along the path, which open up water valves across roots that deter the Gargant. Moderator: SERAH FARRON! |

Iifa Tree planted long ago by Garland as a gigantic soul filter, filtering the souls of Gaia. The souls are drawn towards the tree and intercepted by the SoulCage. The mist that covers the Mist Continent is a by-product of this filtering system, and the mist is pumped from the tree to the Mist Continent through the roots. This mist is used by workers in Dali to manufacture Black Mages. Moderator: SERAH FARRON! |

Lindblum It shares a border with both Alexandria and Burmecia. It is the largest city in the game and is divided into 4 different areas: the Theater District, the Industrial District, the Business District, and the Grand Castle. People transport from district to district via the use of Air Cabs. The regency itself is protected by the Lindblum Airfleet, and lives under the rule of Regent Cid Fabool IX. Treno There is no existent middle class in Treno, instead, all of its inhabitants are either extremely wealthy or extremely poor. The rich nobles live down on the waterfront, while the poor live up in the slums around the city. Treno is known as the Dark City due to the perpetual state of darkness in which it remains. Fortified on all sides by impenetrable walls, navigating the city means braving the heights of such walls and bridges in the dark of the city's seemingly endless nights, although an alternative is to travel by boat across the water that the bridges cross.
