Timber

SeeD members are sent to Timber as part of an early mission to help the Forest Owls, a subversive group resisting the Galbadian government's repressive occupation. It is during this mission that Squall Leonhart meets Rinoa Heartilly for the second time, following their dance at Balamb Garden. Squall and his SeeD party are to aid the Forest Owls in their kidnapping of the Galbadian President, Vinzer Deling. However, the mission fails when it is discovered that the President they were attempting to kidnap is only a body double called Gerogero. They then obtain information that the President's business in Timber involves the TV station, on which he plans to broadcast something. The SeeDs go to the station to see what he is up to. He is proclaiming, for all the world to see, that he is making the Sorceress the new ambassador of Galbadia. All of a sudden, Seifer appears, and holds the President hostage. However, Seifer is lured into Sorceress Edea's service.

Seifer is announced executed by the Galbadians. Rinoa is sad about this, and reveals that she was Seifer's girlfriend a while back. After this, they are hired by Galbadia Garden, to execute the Sorceress.
