Personality:Zack goes through a series of changes throughout the events of his life. In the beginning, he has short spikey black hair and bangs framing the sides of his face. He is also tall, well-built, and features the iconic sky-blue "Mako Eyes" that many SOLDIERs have, with the exceptions of Sephiroth and Cloud who was only an infantryman. At first, he wears a dark blue SOLDIER uniform, gloves, boots, and is equipped with a standard SOLDIER Sword. Later, he is upgraded to a black 1st Class SOLDIER uniform. When Angeal, his former friend and mentor, transforms into a monster, Zack is forced to fight him. After Angeal's defeat, Zack obtains the Buster Sword as well as an X-shaped scar on his cheek. Later, he also changes his hair. It is still spiky but longer than it originally was, going back with a lock of hair hanging down in front of his face.

Zack initially has a strong and spunky attitude, and is always ready for work. His personality helped him earn the nickname "Zack the Puppy" from Angeal. He is very loyal to SOLDIER and dreams to become a hero. He also has a very friendly and caring personality, easily making friends with almost everyone he meets. Angeal's words of having dreams and honor have had a great impact on Zack, leading him to protect his honor and dreams as a member of SOLDIER, though still he retains his upbeat self. Zack is very flirty with women, occasionally asking a few out on a date as he does with Aerith right after meeting her, depicting himself to be somewhat of a ladies' man. Zack is also very protective of his friends, and will be ready to defend them without hesitation. He does not hesitate to fight Sephiroth after seeing Nibelheim ablaze and finding Tifa injured in the Mako Reactor, and he points the Buster Sword at Cissnei, threatening to attack her in Cloud's defense. After meeting Cloud, Zack's friendship with him progresses till he is killed protecting Cloud.

History: Childhood and Early Life:

Zack, born in the town of Gongaga, had childhood dreams of joining SOLDIER to become a 1st Class like the legendary Sephiroth. At the age of thirteen, Zack left Gongaga, without even telling his parents, and joined the Shinra Electric Power Company's military forces.

Entering Soldier

By October of 0000, he had reached SOLDIER 2nd Class under the tutelage of SOLDIER 1st Class Angeal Hewley. Angeal's words of wisdom and strong sense of honor had a profound effect on Zack, who wanted to be just like his mentor. During his time in SOLDIER, Zack befriended 2nd Class SOLDIER Kunsel, who guided him in the ways of Shinra. Zack works under Director Lazard Deusericus in the 49th Floor of Shinra Headquarters, along with many other SOLDIER members.

Fight with Genesis and Angeal

Zack of course, is the one who fights Genesis, and shortly after he has to fight Angeal. He kills Angeal, or at least that is what it looked like to him. He figures out that Genesis ended up being alive, and now he does his best to live up to what he had promised Angeal even though he is gone. He also has Angeal's sword, that was left to Zack, after his was destroyed.

The Nibelheim incident

Zack goes to the reactor to find Sephiroth and well this is when he learns about Jenova, and Sephiroth's connection, the two of them fight and well Zack is badly wounded, so is Tifa, and well of course Cloud. but Cloud is the one who kills Sephiroth, and well Tifa is taken away leaving Cloud and Zack to be grabbed by someone and taken to be experimented on. Zack believes he is hallucinated and he sees Angeal, his new found will helps him break out of the glass that he is, and also to escape with Cloud. but Cloud is practically drugged up and knocked out by the Mako poisoning leaving Zack to take care of him. As they start to get away they run into the turks, and well they get away thanks to Cissnei.

Zack's Death

He was protecting Cloud, that was something he had wanted to do, and well he had been shot and the Digital mind wave was shattered. When Cloud regains his mind, or well wakes up, Zack is to close for Cloud to be able to save him, and well he was bound to die anyway. Zack gives Cloud his buster sword, that he got from Angeal, and tells him to carry on and be his living legacy. As Cloud leaves to go to Midgar, Zack notices a feather, mainly Angeal's wing, as the sun rises, he takes Angeal's hand and proceeds to the life stream where he resides until the day for some reason he falls back to Midgar, at first he is a little confused.

But he tries to find Cloud, and make sure that he is still alive, as well as the others. Slowly but surely, the more he looks around for Cloud, the more his memories begin to return. He wonders if Aerith has returned as well. Unknown to him, he has no clue that her feelings, or the feelings he thought she had might have changed.

Zack opened his eyes, looking around him, where had he ended up, he hadn't expected to be out here now, wasn't he dead? He had died hadn't he, the bullets, his blood, seeing Cloud, giving Cloud his sword, Zack remembered all of it, and yet here he was like it had never happened. His clothes were still torn up by it and there was dried blood from the wounds. He felt almost nothing, just a few waves of pain here and there, it was like it had all ended so quickly and there was nothing that could explain what had happened. 'I was in the lifestream...this shouldn't be happening...how am I here now...unless the lifestream had a reason...'
He saw Aerith's church in the distance, that one church he had never thought he would have seen again, if he had come back was she here as well, he had to check, he had to know.

And that was when he saw the cloaked man or well someone, for just a moment he thought he glimpsed silver hair, and he thought of Sephiroth, but he couldnt' quite figure out why at this point. He had to get to the church if she was in there he wanted to make sure she was okay. He had told Cloud to follow his dreams,and even know Zack was having a hard time believing that all of this was real. "No way this can't be real...I'm not..." He wasn't going to end up saying the rest of it, even though part of him knew it wasn't wise for him to still be around here, but he had to find Aerith. He entered the church and well he looked around carefully, that black cloaked guy was here, and well that just made him realize that he had to find her. Unless she wasnt' here yet, his mind was still confused, and back onto that bright light, and that voice that had called out to him telling him to wake up.

He looked around, and then turned his vision towards the man or boy, or whatever he was, his first task was Aerith, and yet here this person was. Who was it, he felt like he had seen him before, something was just not right about this place at all. The rain didn't bug Zack, at first it stung a little bit, but it reminded of when he died, all over again, it was just like the time he had died, except he was not sure why he was here instead of where he had actually been killed.
