Put on your pretty lies xx You're in the city of wonder ---------------------------------------
A tall slender figure stood at the entrance to the city of night, her eyes glanced around at all the humes who passed her. This certainly was not the skies or the familiar cities she had once walked in. It was frightning and yet confusing that she did not know where she was, there was not even the slightest clue on the location of the Strahl or her partner. Another question which was reeling through the viera's mind was how did she even get here she couldn't even remember, and it was beginning to irritate her to no end. Well instead of standing around she may as well go forth and ask someone as to her location, get some sort of answer as to where she was. As she began to walk forward she stopped for only a few seconds to glance to the humes who walked pass, their clothing it looked as if they were high class. Some of the humes just stopped and glanced at Fran wondering whom she was, some even whispered that she was a moogle that had a growth spurt. That was insulting, and although she kept a straight face inside she wanted to say something rude to these stuck up snobs. She was not a moogle, she was a proud viera and the next person to even utter an insult will find themselves in this fountain near the entrance to the town. "One should learn to keep such rude remarks to themselves". Was the only thing she uttered, spotting a young woman nearby the viera walked over to her and asked what the name of this town was. The response she got was a little shocking, the woman explained this was the town of Treno. Where it was everlasting night, and that the nobles always had parties and gatherings down by the waterfront. She also told the viera that the town was divided into the poor and rich, the poor living in the slums of the city while the rich dined on wine and cheese. Getting what information she needed, including about the auction house and inn the viera continued on her way. Heading down to the left wondering where it would take her, even though she was neither noble or poor she wondered if there was a place she could get a drink around here. Perhaps she would try the slums or the waterfront. Walking around in this place she sure stood out like a sore thumb, since she seemed to be the only one of her kind even walking about. Fran ignored the glances she was getting even the few wolf whistles from some men, unless they knew what was good for them they would do well to stay as far away from her as possible. Her ears picked up the sound of someone shouting what sounded like prices, making her way over a long bridge high on a wall and down some stairs she came to the auction house. Fran just seemed to stand there, hand on her hip as she listened to the man shout out items then prices as people raised their hands. And that's where she remained, intrigued by the name of the items being sold off. New treasures, and things she a sky pirate could make profit from. "Sixteen Thousand Gil." Putting on his fake 'noble' accent, to make his bidding seemingly easier. He hated Treno to be truthful. Well, most part of it anyway. The Noble areas held their lush surroundings and held the perfect air for once such as himself, only to have it repulsively dismayed and decayed by the terrible Gaian Nobles of Treno. Oh how it made him sorrowful. It seemed that the Crystal Dagger, donated by one Zidane Tribal after his defeat of that madman....Kuja was it not? It peeved him no end that these useless nobles claimed ownership to such a beautiful prize. One fit only for Thieves, Bards and Dancers a like. Nigh Improbable for a collector to wish such, Mercurius was the only one that needed such.
"Thirty-Two Thousand Gil." He spoke lazily, as he rose his hand, calling lightly over the crowd. A mutter fell over the crowd as they seemingly felt they may have been defeated. Were he to win the bid or not, he was taking such a wonderful specimen with or without others opinion nor a bias decision. He twisted on his feet, as he slowly made his way around the back of the crowd glancing over, before bids began to shoot off, left, right and center. Blinking, Mercury kicked at the dirt, and scowled slightly.
As he wandered around biding his time, his eyes fell upon a....human....a Terran.....a Moogle? What in the world was she? Indeed she was female, that much was sure, and indeed she was not Noble, no noble would be seen dead in such revealing of the clothing attire. Needless to say, he was a gluten for pain, and a killer of Curiosity. He canted his head to the side as he pulled at his collar, brushing a few stray strands of hair from his eye, as he stepped in beside her. Raising his hand again, he spoke across the crowd again, still having the Nobles marvel at his ability to be heard over yelling with what seemed a whisper.
"Fifty Thousand Gil." Smirking slightly, as a soft gasp ran over the nobles, man threw him rather furious and anger looks. He had mounds of money to spend, due to his dear departed Lady Nervane. He simply rose a palm to his face, pushing his glasses further up his nose, stopping them from sliding off as he threw a glance to the tall slender lady, seemingly the only one to rival his height in anyway. It was distressing. [/blockquote]

This city was odd and very strange, and there was an odd smell to it as well. Her nose was accute and could pick up even the slightest hint of mist, a little would not make her lose control or go beserk. However a large mass would make her go completely crazy, but she found it odd there would even be a trace of mist in this odd world. Not wanting to stand near the entrance to the town she made her way down the stairs to the right, a woman had told her about what went on here and that this place was called Treno. It was always night, the sun was never seen in the city of night. Fran simply nodded to the woman and continued on her way, she had no idea how she even got to Treno. One minute she was with her partner enjoying being a sky pirate and looking for new treasure, and the next she just somehow appears here. And from just standing at the entrance, she could see that some of these humes were very stuck up. The viera had caught the comment on being a moogle with a growth spurt, but not wanting to cause trouble she just gave a simple flat toned reply and continued on her way. As she headed down the stairs Fran took notice of the large bridge she crossed over and the river down below, what she had also found out is that there was a place called the slums around here where the poor lived. The nobles made it their job to look down on the less fortunate, how repulsive. Ignoring the looks she got from those who passed her she soon stopped near the auction house, glancing to the man at the front who seemed to be showing off items for bidding. Now this was more her thing, being a sky pirate she did enjoy new treasures even if they weren't from her world. Of course as she looked at the people who were sitting, Fran gave a disgusted look. How typical, nobles. Just standing behind the right set of chairs, the viera just listened as people yelled out prices. There was one voice though that stood out more than the others and had caught her attention, tilting her head slightly she noticed he was looking over to her. Another thing which stood out about her was her attire, okay it was revealing a little more than needed but that was how she dressed. How most of the viera dressed in her home wood, actually she had discarded the wood and any ties to it. Some humes in this world were strange, they whistled to her making strange calls. And as usual Fran just ignored them, to tell the truth she never had trouble with the humes back home making odd animal calls to her. Her eyes never left the man as he seemed to come up beside her, rather stepped up beside her. He than yelled out a bid for fifty thousand gil, and the nobles seemed to go quiet and only a few gave shocked gasps. "If you insist to stand near me, do not yell your bids like so". Since it seemed that the auction was over she had no reason to stay, the man glanced to her once more as she simply shook her head and started to walk off. Nay probable, she could not of have made such a cunning remark and simply left. Oh no, on the opposite, Verintar would have taken much too much of a liking to her. Oh how he adored his Behemoth Cub, and how the cub adored him. So much so, that even the slightest scent of Mercury upon someone was bound enough to have the cub stop them from moving, until told to 'step off.' His waistcoat had brushed her arms slightly as she'd turned and left, and the auction was won in his favor.
However, his mind now long ignoring of the Crystal Dagger, he was much more interested in this....woman, of sorts. Having been handed the Dagger with much care, he clicked his fingers, as it seemingly 'disappeared' and the next item for auction started up. A lovely replica of the Airship that had caused the destruction of so much. Even a Bahamut Behemoth had been carved on the side of it. Sighing at the thought of owning such a piece he felt that it was best left to those who truly needed to spend their mass amounts of fortune.
As he stepped outside, clicking his tongue slightly, as he gazed about, unsure of where she may have headed. Feeling a tugging at his pants, he gazed down to find the Behemoth Cub at knee height, teeth hooked into his legs looking up at him with fear of the people. Such a bizarre creature Verintar was, he was not at all like other Behemoth cubs. He was much too tame....quite like a very loyal and childish dog. He couldn't help but smile at the pure sight of him.
Standing as he gazed about, his eyes soon fell once more upon the long ear lady, and caused him much confusion. He despised the fact she showed so much of her body without attempting to cover it. He despised the fact that she was a woman, of possible nobility, and spoke so harshly, when he spoke barely more than a whisper. Yet he adored the fact that she was indeed unique, special and intriguing. A bizarre turn of events.
He could only stand by and watch, kneeling to pet Verintar as he watched her. [/blockquote]

Fran didn't care what that man did with his item he won, perhaps if he pursisted to follow her she would take it from him. From her line of sight she could see it was a unique piece and could probably fetch a good price somewhere down the road, hearing another auction starting. Heading away in a different direction from the auction house she decided to go see what else this place had to offer. And since she was stuck here for who knows how long in this city of night, it wouldn't hurt to see if there was an inn nearby. On her search for said inn she got turned around in the city and somehow ended up near a tower right near the river which ran through the place, glancing around she noticed another set of stairs leading upwards and went in that direction. Fran stopped every few minutes, knowing she was being followed. Was this man so persistant that he needed to follow behind her like a lost child, or rather a puppy with no master. Going up the stairs and up on the bridge again she followed another path down some wooden stairs, pulling a man nearby by the collar of his shirt. "I shall only ask once, where can I find an inn?". Her patience was wearing thin with this world, the man a little frightened by the rabbit woman simply pointed a shaking finger down the stairs and to her right. Letting him go gently she continued down the stairs and followed his directions, seeing the inn but not heading for the door just yet. With a quick action she took her bow off her back, and an arrow pointing it in the direction she had come from. "If you and your pet insist on following me, I suggest you make yourself visable unless you wish for me to release this arrow". She wouldn't unless given a reason, but if there was one thing she would not tolerate it was someone who followed her. And if he was doing this just to annoy her she would not hesitate to teach him a lesson, so keeping her weapon drawn she fired the arrow near him just as an warning. Even with his many years of Dragoon Knight training, Mercury was at heart, a thief. He could hide, dash, quick step, and move in a flurry, so fast at times, you'd never see him even click his daggers into existence. He could only watch the bunny girl as she moved over Treno, hopelessly lost and getting nowhere. She knew of his presence, as he was not at all trying to hide it. No, he spoke quite often to Verintar about this girl, very well in her ear shot. He could not learn by staying out of view. If his thoughts were correct, she was not of this world, but perhaps that of the world, he visited once called...'Ivalice.'
He was unsure of such accusations, and he could not make himself readily believe such until he was absolutely certain. Yet, as she threatened a man, he could help but feel his resentment for her grow. The man she threatened happened to be one of Mercurius only friends in Treno. Not rich, nor poor, yet kind-hearted and accepting. He was also very well entwined with Mercury's 'business' ventures. Nay, she had not struck a very good nerve and her following actions could cement his resentment and growing fury with her. Only those of Ivalice could be so thoughtless and careless.
She then, did not what was smart. Never, fire an arrow at a member of the noble house of Solanarantar, and a master Thief. Nay, even in warning, it was a stupid thing. The Behemoth cub, Verintar, roared with ferocity at the actions, feeling protective of his master. The roar of a child Omega Behemoth. He glowered as he stepped from the shadows of the stairs, quick-stepping, moving with the wind, as he moved in beside her again, clicking his fingers in the same instance, pushing 'Leviathan' close to her throat. He however kept a rather calm and whimsical look on his face, his voice did not match. A boiling anger hidden deep within the stern hardness of it.
"You'd do well not to anger, Mercurius Solanarantar, of the Honored house of Solanarantar, and Widowed Husband of Lady Nervane, in a city filled with Thieves and those willing to cut you down where you stand, for simply looking at me wrong. Nay, not wise...Ivalicean. I am simply curious why one such as you, would enter the world of Gaia, and do so under no knowledge of such."
His noble accent stayed true, as to make his words more truthful. All were lies, and all were empty pretenses, yet he made no mention of such. He could lie, without ever having another soul find the truth. Nay, he was a right down, truthful liar. He clicked his fingers, as the dagger simply vanished again, his eyes however still remained upon her. [/blockquote]

Fran was not stupid nor was she incompentant, if she found someone as a threat she simply taught them a lesson. As for the man she had pulled aside, she was gentle with him and did not mean to frighten him either. The viera was simple frustrated and and getting impatient of this world and not being able to find her partner. She had let the man go unharmed and just a little shaken up, after getting an answer out of him where the inn might be. As she made her way down the wooden flight of stairs, the viera though not showing it on her features was beginning to become more annoyed by the man from the auction house and his little pet just following her around the whole city. Yes she knew she was lost and yes she knew this was not her world, but if there was at least one thing this viera did not appreciate it was being followed or gawked at by the people here. She was a stranger in this town of Treno, and as far as she was concerned she had done nothing wrong to rub anyone the wrong way thus far. However before she even decided to go into the inn, the viera took her bow off her back and notched an arrow into the string. Aiming towards the spot where she knew the man was with his pet, Fran fired but away from them. This was only meant to be a warning shot and nothing more hostile than that, unless he wished to give her a reason to attack him again and not miss. However she was somewhat caught off guard when he suddenly appeared beside her, how had he done that without her even knowing it. Not moving she simply noticed his "Leviathan" close to her throat, but her expression showed no fear. Hearing him speak, Fran held onto his every word but not once did she flinch or waver unlike some. In most situations like this she just remained calm and collected, not lashing or out causing a scene. "Your words strike no fear in me, for you do not know me." He really was one to talk to her in such a tone as his, did he think he was going to frighten her with talk of thieves and being cut down. Most would fall before they even had a chance to draw their weapons. "You mistake me for one who can't defend herself, I do not care which title you hold I was simply looking for a place to rest. Also I am no thief, I am a sky pirate. If any thief wants to try me, they would fall before they even had a chance to strike".His last part of what he said made the viera scrunch her nose up abit, Ivalicean he dared to call her. "I am not one of those from Ivalice, I am from the wood of Eruyt Vilage". Seeing the dagger vanish she simply shook her head, and put her bow back behind her. "Perhaps before threatning someone, you should learn to make your words more clear". With that said she walked pass him without another word, her face once again emotionless and headed inside the inn. LYRICS: Disturbia -- Rhianna WORDS: 544 TAG: Mercury Solanar[/blockquote]

She'd crossed the line. She had put away her horrid of weapon, and spoke her petty empty words. Yet, he found himself boiling with rage, rage that he'd been keeping pent up. Verintar began to edge away from his master, as he began to breath slightly heavier, feeling the world around him slowly become less and less important. His eyes focused with pure malice upon this girl. He found himself breathing heavily, if he were able he'd most like be breathing flames of pure anger. She'd not only hit a sensitive nerve, she'd also brushed him off as if he were nothing. Which was not good.
Then slowly, the cries of agony began to escape his lips, as he felt his vision begin to crowd. The few nobles and thieves alike passing by, attempting their daily routine of having their loot stolen, and the thieves running off with the loot stopped dead in their tracks. Nay, it would not be the first time they witnessed the sight of an upset and quite furious Mercury. It was also one they wouldn't wish to stay around for. Those brave enough, simply took to higher ground or a lower place to watch from a safety, others began to back away, and clear out. However, one decided to at least warn the Bunny Girl of Mercurius infamy in Treno for his outbursts of rage.
"Please excuse me, however, I'd rather not have my Inn broken and destroyed My Fair one. I'd ask that you take Lord Mercurius from this place. I do not wish harm upon you, or those of this humble city of Treno. One Behemoth is bad enough. However, the instant creation of another is not something I wish. Please....for our sakes, settle these matters first."
The man quickly nodded and turned on his tail, running back to his Inn, as Mercury shoulders slumped, gaze at the ground, Verintar taking refuge with the man earlier asked for directions by this Bunny Girl. Mercury was seething, his arms lay limp at his side, as he breathed heavily. His gaze rose slowly to the girl, his nose twitching slightly.
"Yeh little....Hoo dar' yeh discard meself l'ke that an' th'nk yehself off dat dar' hook? Yeh toss aside them that peopl' that's wants teh help yeh and lea'n 'bout yeh, but nay! Yeh insu't I, and yeh e'pect teh get 'way wit' it? Nay o' me watch! Yeh idiocy is nay any of me concern. Yeh idiocy and obliviousicy, is nay any of me concern. Yeh, best th'nk of who yeh threat and who watchie yeh. Bef're yeh shot off an arr'w a blantantest challenge, yeh sh'ld th'nk of who yeh are challenging!"
His fake accent never sustained in anger. No, he spoke with his horrid backwater accent, and allowed his purest of rage to flow through it. He growled slightly, quick stepping in front of her, glaring straight into her eyes, an anger and hatred burning within. A slightly wind followed after, rippling past them, blowing her and his hair, keeping it afloat for a few seconds, as he stared with what was once admiration and curiosity, only now replaced by pure Malice. Why should she have to worry about words spoken by this man, in her time Fran had heard it all. She had seen things this man could not even begin to think about, and yet he had the nerve to pull his weapon on her. Of course she had been surprised by his speed and how he made it just appear out of thin air, some mere magik trick perhaps or the skills of a very good mage. But had she shown any fear......no she didn't, for it was not in her nature to show such emotions to a ignorant hume who get's angry over an arrow being shot. It was never intended to hit him or his pet anyways, as he spoke with his words of malice and hate Fran just let them roll off her like a droplet of water. But that did not mean she hadn't listened to everything he had said, yes anyone would be quite cross if they got a arrow shot at them. But as she just thought, she missed him with no intention on hurting him. Why must humes always take things the wrong way, after exchanging her words with Mercury she simply put her bow away and turned once more towards the inn. The sooner she got out of this town, and reunited with her partner the better. Fran only stopped as she heard the man burst out in cries of agony, her eyes glanced up slowly to see thieves and nobles alike take to higher ground. Some just stopped dead in their tracks as if frozen on the spot by some unknown magick. Had her words really cut him that deep, where he needed to put on this show. Her head turned and her eyes fell upon the man who seemed to run the inn, asking her to take this man away from the place or area. But it was too late since the owner quickly took refuge back inside his inn, and Fran turned her attention back to Mercury. She could sense something different about him and not the same as he was before. Sliding her right foot back abit, Fran narrowed her eyes at the seething Mercury in front of her. And as he spoke her anger only seemed to deepen, and her patience with this hume was all but gone. Toss aside the people that want to help her, that want to know about her she did nothing of the sort. "Anger and malice, only cloud the mind. You know not of me, and I do not speak to the rude who simply wish to stare at me". If people gave her rude looks or said something under their breath about her, she usually brushed it off unless they pursued to say more. The lady she had asked at the entrance to this town simply told her the nobles were stuck up, which was true. Fran had listened to the words spoken by some, about her and the way she stuck out. Treno was not her home, there were no others like her here. There was only her, and her alone. The skies were her home and alongside her partner Balthier. And this person he dared to have the nerve to accuse her of things she did not do. "I did not threaten anyone, nor did I ask for a challenge. My arrow was only a warning, but a insolent hume such as yourself could only be blinded with rage and anger without thinking that it was shot well away from you and harmless". Before she could react he was once again in front of her, his eyes glared into hers as she felt just a twinge of fear. Feeling the wind ripple pass her, blowing her hair back for a few seconds she just gave him a look of digust. Fran could see the Malice in his eyes, but what he was doing was just part of a misunderstanding he couldn't seem to get through his head. "I will say once more, my arrow was a harmless warning. If you insisted on following me, why not just walk by my side if you were so curious. I do not bite".LYRICS: Disturbia -- Rhianna TAG: Mercury Solanar WORDS: 700~[/blockquote]
