Kilala walked on the semi busy streets. Her pet fox was on her right shoulder. The small fox was looking this way and that at all the new sights. A confused look had placed itself on the young girls face. She was looking for her older brother. The only problem was, she didn't know if he was even in this town.
A sigh slipped out her lips. Kilala didn't have a clue where he was. This was the third town she had searched, all with no luck. The young girl sat down on the edge of the monument's base. Her right hand had her chin resting in it. "Where else should we look, Kiara?" The blonde haired girl asked the creme fox that had moved to her left shoulder. Blue eyes looked at the pasting people. No one seemed to have even seen her brother, let alone know where he was. Her search looked hopeless, but Kilala wasn't about to give up. She was going to find that idiot brother of hers and demand to know just why he left her alone. Her left hand reached up to scratch Kiara's ear. The two needed a break, even if it was just a small one.

Marlene clutched her Moogle plushie to her chest a little tighter as she walked through a side-street that led out into the centre of Edge. There were quite a lot of people around, including some of the orphan children that she had become quite good friends with. She had stopped and spoken to them for a while, even played a quick game with them, but she thought to herself that she would probably be better heading back to 7th Heaven soon before Tifa started to worry. There were less threats on the streets now than there had been before with the Geostigma and the Remnants. Marlene shuddered slightly at the thought of the silver-haired men that had kidnapped her. She never wanted to see them ever again. They had caused a lot of trouble and hurt some of the people she cared about, like Tifa and Cloud. But even without those threats anymore, the streets could of course still be dangerous, especially to a seven year old girl. And so Marlene had started making her way back to 7th Heaven, crossing over to the centre of Edge carefully, trying not to get in anyone's way. That was when she spotted a blonde girl sitting on the edge of the bottom of the monument, a cute little fox perched on her shoulder. She paused in her steps, tilting her head to the side slightly. She had always been told not to talk to strangers, but there was something about the blonde girl that was almost sad; it was like she could sense it. Perhaps she's lost...Just as Marlene was about to open her mouth and walk over to the older girl, a passerby bumped into her, knocking her off her feet. She landed, fairly hard, on her butt and her Moogle plushie went flying out of her hand. The guy that had bumped into her just gave her a stern "Watch it!" before continuing to walk away. Instead of getting upset and crying like a normal girl her age might, Marlene huffed slightly, annoyance written on her face. Lifting her right hand off of the ground, she noticed it was grazed and was bleeding a little. Kilala sighed again. She was tired. Tired of the secrets, tired of the searching. The young girl didn't know what to do about any of it. Blue eyes stared off at the by passers. They were all in their own lives. It was a quieter time now. No more stories of the world ending were going around. This fact made Kilala feel a little better living in this life of hers.
She suddenly noticed a a little girl looking at her. She was much younger at 7 or 8. Did she need something? Before she could think much more on the matter a guy bumped into her. The poor girl went plummeting to the ground and her stuffed toy took a short flight. The guy didn't even look to care as he said something by the look of his mouth and walked away. How rude! Kilala got up on her feet to see if the girl was alright.
"Are you OK? I can't believe some people." Kilala said reaching down to retrieve the Moogle in her left hand. She took a few more steps to the girl, looking her over. A red color caught her eye. "The nerve of that guy!" She growled. The guy had caused her hand to bleed and just walked away. She should go find him and give him a piece of her mind. However, she wouldn't.
Kilala reached her right hand out to help the girl up and offered the Moogle doll in her left. Kiara jumped down to the ground and sniffed at the new girl's shoe. "Don't worry, she won't hurt you." Kilala smiled reassuringly. _____________________________________________ Word Count: 269 Notes: Glad you did. ^.^

Marlene looked up from her hand as she was spoken to. She was slightly surprised to see that it was the older girl that she had been going to speak to before she had been knocked over. She nodded her head, giving the older girl a smile. “I’m fine, thank you,” she said politely. Despite spending quite a lot of her young life in the slums, she had always been well spoken and well-mannered, especially with Tifa’s influence now. She looked up to Tifa, because she was the closest thing she had to a mother now. She just nodded to what the blonde girl was saying about the guy that had knocked her over. “Some adults need to learn some manners,” she said quietly, more to herself than the other girl. She smiled again as the older girl offered to help her up. Taking the girl’s right hand with her left one, Marlene got back up onto her feet and brushed the dirt off the back of her skirt with her left hand. “Thank you,” she said again as she took the Moogle plushie that the older girl was holding out to her. Looking down at the little fox that was by her foot, the smile on Marlene’s lips got a little wider. She loved animals, which was why she always loved when Nanaki visited. She looked back at the girl. “Can I pet her?” she asked, not wanting to do so without asking first. She looked rather intently at the older girl again for a moment, thinking back to what she has been musing before when she had first spotted the girl. “Um...” she started a little uncertainly. “Are...are you okay? I...saw you looked almost sad before?” She was uncertain as to whether she was correct about her assumption, and she fidgeted with her hands, holding the Moogle toy closer to her again. “Oh!” she exclaimed suddenly. “My name is Marlene. What’s yours?” she asked brightly, having forgotten to introduce herself beforehand. If she was going to ask the girl questions like she just had, she would like to know her name. The girl agreed with her statement of rude people. She took the offered hand, brushed herself off, and took her stuffed toy back. The young girl looked at Kiara. Her face light up with a big smile before turning back to her and asking, “Can I pet her?” She had a very happy look on her face, but it quickly shifted to an unsure one. “Um...Are...are you okay? I...saw you looked almost sad before?” She hesitated a little in a her next question.
Kilala opened her mouth to answer, but before she could say anything the girl jumped to say, “Oh! My name is Marlene. What’s yours?” Kilala gave a laugh. This girl was quite the character. "My name's Kilala and that's Kiara. Sure, you can pet her." She smiled. Kiara usually wasn't interest in other people but she seemed to like Marlene. This made Kilala feel happier.
Her face saddened a little before continuing, "Uh, yeah I guess I did seem that way. I'm looking for my older brother. He left me a few months ago and I haven't heard from him, so I'm trying to find him." She sighed. "The only problem is I don't know where to look." _______________________________________________________________ Notes: Lol Nanaki. You make a really good Marlene. ^.^

Marlene continued to smile at the older girl. “Kilala?” she repeated the girl’s name almost to make sure that she was saying it right and taking it in. “That’s pretty!” She’d never heard of a name like it before, and it made her even more curious about the other girl. Besides having a slightly strange, but pretty, name, Marlene had noticed that the older girl was also carrying a sword strapped to her back. Was she a warrior or something? She only looked like she was in her teens. She looked down at ‘Kiara’ when Kilala said that she could pet her. Grinning widely, she knelt down and reached out her free hand to Kiara, and lightly pet her on the head, stroking down her back to her tail. She giggled slightly and continued with the action a few more times. “You’re very cute,” she practically cooed at the small animal. Part of her wished that she could have a pet of her own, like a cat or a dog, but she wasn’t sure if anyone would go for that idea. Denzel would, she knew that, but she wasn’t sure about Cloud or Tifa. Marlene looked back up as Kilala spoke, and the smile on her face dimmed again slightly. She could understand partly how Kilala felt. “I...think I can understand,” she said slowly, her voice still a little uncertain. “I stay with my guardian, Tifa, while my Daddy is away working. I get sad sometimes because I miss him.” However, she had always known where her daddy was...so it wasn’t exactly the same as Kilala’s situation, but it was the closest that she could relate to. “Do you know why he left?” she asked, although she felt a little nosy saying it. “Where have you looked for him?” Marlene was completely unaware that Kilala had not just been searching this world for her brother. Even though she knew a seven-year-old wouldn’t be much help, part of her did want to help Kilala find her brother. Marlene noted how she liked Kilala's name. Yeah, she did have a bit of an unusual name. But she liked it, there wasn't many who shared it. This made her feel special in that way. Her brother called her 'Lala when she was little and even made her think that was her name till she was 6. Kilala laughed at that memory. The teacher would call her and she would forget that it was her they wanted. Their mother often yelled at him for it.
The child then started to pet Kiara. She purred happily and rubbed against her hand as it traveled down her back. This surprised Kilala. Usually the small fox didn't care for others. Not that she attacked anyone, but she seem like she didn't like anyone but Kilala. To see her so affectionate to Marlene made Kilala feel good that the young fox was learning to like others. Marlene appeared to really like her as well.
“I...think I can understand. I stay with my guardian, Tifa, while my Daddy is away working. I get sad sometimes because I miss him.” The girl had said, turning her attention away from the furry creature for a moment. Kilala grew sad with this fact. She looked really young. What was her dad doing to cause him to leave her in the care of someone else like that? She couldn't think of any kind of job that would at the time.
“Do you know why he left? Where have you looked for him?” The soft voice broke through her thoughts. Kilala shook her head. "He just said he had something to do and left. I've looked in every town I've come across. But it's just like him not to tell me anything." She answered making her voice a little more happy in tone. _____________________________________________ Word Count: 300 Notes: Thank you. ^,^ I make her at all my rp sites. Marlene giggled as Kiara started purring and rubbing against her hand. The little fox really was adorable, and because she seemed so friendly towards her, Marlene had no idea that Kiara was normally not so friendly with other people as she was being right now. She continued to pet the little fox as she spoke, and then listened to Kilala speak after. She really did wish that she could get a pet… Perhaps she would ask Tifa at some point. Even if she said no, it was worth asking just in case there was a chance she would say yes. Marlene didn’t really mind much that her Daddy was away. Well, sometimes she didn’t. It depended on exactly how long he was away for, she guessed. But she had Tifa and Denzel and Cloud, so it was okay. She loved all three of them a lot, and would do anything for them. Denzel was her best friend, and Tifa was like a mother to her. Cloud…she supposed he was kind of like a big brother to her. When she thought about it a little more, she could sympathise with Kilala in another way too. Cloud used to be away a lot, and she always missed him too. When Kilala explained what her brother had said and where she had looked, a small frown tugged at Marlene’s lips. That was like Cloud used to say. “He doesn’t tell you a lot?” She bit her lip after she spoke, before opening her mouth to speak again. “Sorry if I’m asking too many questions.”“Have you looked all over Edge? Or the Midgar ruins?” she asked, curious. Despite Midgar being basically destroyed, she knew some people still went there, be it for sentimental reasons or otherwise. If Kilala hadn’t, then it was always worth a shot, before she went and looked anywhere else. “I’ll help you look!”Words: 311 Muse: okay-ish Music: “Alice (Underground)” by Avril Lavigne, “We’ll Be A Dream” by We The Kings, “The Cave” by Mumford & Sons, “The Best Day” by Taylor Swift Tagged: Kilala Kitsune/Open Outfit: click here! “He doesn’t tell you a lot? Sorry if I’m asking too many questions.” The young girl commented sounding a little regretful. Then her face changed to a curious one. “Have you looked all over Edge? Or the Midgar ruins?”" Kilala gave a smile. "It's OK. Um...I've looked around Edge. I haven't gone to the Midgar ruins yet. I guess that should be my next target." She said after some thought. Her hand brushed a strand of hair from her face.
Marlene's face lit up. “I’ll help you look!” Kilala was a little surprised. The girl was friendly and nice yes. But she was young and it was getting to be closer to night. "Are you sure Tifa won't mind? It is getting dark out." The teenager would love to have help finding that troublesome brother of hers, but she didn't want to get the child into trouble. Whether it was with her guardian or something or someone else. ______________________________________________________________ Notes: It's fine. Short post >.<

Marlene nodded slightly as Kilala told her it was okay that she was asking so many questions. She was naturally curious, and part of her wanted to know why Kilala's brother would just leave like that and not say anything to her. Of course, Cloud had done something similar, but at least they had had a kind of vague idea why and been able to figure it out eventually, after finding the bandages in Aerith's church. That had been at least something, but what did Kilala have to go on? Nothing. A small frown tugged at her lips, but Marlene fought it away as Kilala answered her, nodding her head. "Not a lot of people live there now, though," she said slowly. "But if your brother left and didn't want to be found...then maybe he's there, since not a lot of others are." She adjusted her grip on her Moogle plushie, and continued petting Kiara with her other hand. Nodding again, Marlene smiled. "As long as we're back not long after dark it should be okay, I think," she said, although she was a little uncertain. She didn't want to make Tifa mad or worry, but she also wanted to help Kilala search for her brother, especially since she could relate slightly to the situation. Turning her head, she looked in the direction of Midgar, seeing the silhouette of the now rebuilt ShinRa building in the distance. Glancing back at Kilala before she started walking, she said, "It won't take us long to get there."Words: 253 Muse: Good-ish Music: "Come What May" by Moulin Rouge cast, "All She Knows" by Bruno Mars, "We'll Be A Dream" by We the Kings, "Never Alone" by BarlowGirl Tagged: Kilala Kitsune/Open Outfit: click here! "Not a lot of people live there now, though. But if your brother left and didn't want to be found...then maybe he's there, since not a lot of others are." Marlene comment. Kilala shook her head in disagreement. "I don't think he was trying to hide. He seemed more like...he was looking for something." The young girl was thinking about the last few days she saw him. "When he came home those last few days, he was constantly reading a little black note book. Though, he tried to hide it whenever I found him reading it." Now that she actually thought about it, he read that notebook whenever her or Mom wasn't around. Kilala had only seen him with it a few times while he was in his room and each time he attempted to hide it and pretend it didn't exist. Was that book the reason he took off after their town was attacked? She had no way of knowing without asking him.
"OK. Thanks. It doesn't hurt to look." She smiled coming out of her thoughts. Kiara turned and jumped up on her right shoulder. The creme colored fox rubbed against her cheek. "We can take a quick look and then find a place to stay for the night." The blonde informed Kiara. She then turned to follow Marlene. There was a building in the distance. Could that be the new Shinra building? _____________________________________________ Notes: Changed speech text since the indigo suddenly got hard to read.

Marlene tilted her head slightly to the side. “Looking for something…?” she said, more to herself than to Kilala, just repeating the information. If Kilala didn’t even know, or couldn’t make a guess as to what he was looking for and where he was looking for it, then there wasn’t much Marlene could help with there. The most she could do was help look around the slums of Midgar, but she still wished that she could do more to help the older girl. She felt almost like she was nearly useless to Kilala, but she would try her best to help, that much was for sure. Nodding in agreement when Kilala said it wouldn’t hurt to look, Marlene smiled and stood back up on her feet when Kiara jumped back up onto Kilala’s shoulder. Clutching her Moogle toy to her chest, she turned and started walking towards the remains of Midgar. Her gaze locked onto the intimidating, towering building that was ShinRa HQ. She didn’t know what she thought about ShinRa having been rebuilt, but she could only hope that they wouldn’t try and cause any more trouble than they already had in the past. Soon enough, the buildings around them grew gradually worse, and more rough-looking, and less and less people were around them. It was also darker within the Midgar ruins, with there being higher buildings and remaining pieces of the Plates casting a lot of shadow. Marlene went from leading them, to taking a step back so that she was a little closer to Kilala. It wasn’t really dangerous yet, but come nightfall it could probably get a little scary around here. Ignoring that and focusing on where she was going, Marlene glanced up to Kilala with a smile on her lips. “So where are you from?” she asked, curious to know. It was amazing how fast the buildings crumbled as the three headed to the ruins. There was less and less people to ask, but considering the shape of the buildings it made sense why very few lived here. Kilala was a little nervous about getting attacked, especially with a young child at her side. Not that the blonde didn't know how to fight, she knew a lot about swordsmanship from her brother. She was just concern Marlene might get hurt.
Her thoughts were broken at the sound of a question. "So where are you from?” Kilala looked down at Marlene, a smile was on her face. The teenager smiled back before looking back up ahead of them. "Gongaga. I haven't been there in four years though. I've been living in Kalm since the attack." She simply stated. Maybe she should look there? It was their hometown after all. Kilala nodded to herself. If the Midgar ruins fell through, the two companions would go to Gongaga.
"I bet this place as seen better days." The girl added. "It's really sad to see the town that was probably the most populated now so...empty. Has Shinra helped out at all?" Kilala looked down at the small girl. She had only heard stories about the famous Shinra. Both good and bad. She really didn't know too much about them.

Marlene kept her brown eyes watchful for signs of any trouble. It really would be better if they got out of here before nightfall. She had never been near the ruins when it was dark, and she didn’t plan to be any time soon either. When Kilala told her where she was from, Marlene wished that she could travel more often. She didn’t really get to go anywhere outside of Edge now, and she wanted to see the rest of Gaia. The countryside was so pretty compared to Edge, and Marlene loved looking at the wild flowers. It was a small part of why she liked Aerith’s chapel so much. Marlene turned her gaze back to the older girl as she spoke again. She nodded in agreement. “Yes, it has...” she said in answer to Kilala saying that the place had seen better days. She looked at the ruins around her with a small frown down-turning her lips. She could remember when this place was surging with people, even if there had been a lot of hardships down in the slums. However, at least now, things were looking better for Gaia and for its people. Then Kilala mentioned ShinRa. “I think they have...” she said, a little unsure. “I’m not completely sure, but I think I remember something being said about it.” Even if they hadn’t been, the Turks still helped Cloud out during the mess with the Remnants, even though they didn’t necessarily have to. There had been no obligation to help, and yet they had. Had they had some sort of motive though? Marlene wasn’t sure. She would sometimes listen in on the conversations the adults were having, but she only ever picked up so much. A shiver went down Kilala's spine. It was kinda creepy now as the sun was starting to fall. “I think they have...I’m not completely sure, but I think I remember something being said about it.” Marlene answered. She didn't sound very sure of herself but that was OK. Who knows what that group does anyway? Kilala continued to look around. She was looking for any sign of her stupid brother. Where was he? Why did he leave? These questions circled in the blonde's head. Questions, she had no answer to. She let out a sigh. "I'm not seeing any sign of him. Sorry for dragging you out here for nothing, Marlene." Kilala apologized looking down at the girl. Kiara rubbed against her owner's cheek in an attempt to lift her spirits back up. Kilala scratched behind the fox's ear in return. ______________________________________________________________ Notes: I don't have anyone playing him right now.
